Daylight Savings Time...

I FREAKING HATE IT!!!!! OK...so this was actually a blog challenge at Scrap a Latte, but hold on, I may start ranting! LOL So Indiana was never one to do DST...until we got this IDIOT for a Govenor. Oh fear not...he has done PLENTY of other things to TOTALLY SCREW UP the state, but this has been just another irritant of mine. Honestly, I wouldn't care so much except...

1. All of the State is not on the same time. Part of the state goes Central and part goes Eastern. Now how freaking STUPID is that???? We always were, but now we have to set our clocks for it!

2. It was supposed to "save the state money". Guess what...it has ended up COSTING the state money! (Way to go there MITCH!)

3. It totally screws up my kids schedules. In my opinion, if we WERE going to do this, it was backwards. We should have fallen back in the Spring and sprung forward in the winter. I would much rather have some extra sunlight in the dead of winter as opposed to just having some light in the spring and then it getting pitch black again! Besides the fact that it doesn't get dark until almost 10pm on the 4th of July now, so fireworks shows are delayed, etc. Just STUPID!!!!

OK, I warned you that this could turn into a rant. Seriously, I just hate it. It's not even the fact that it is "change". I am really ok with changes for the most part, but there just doesn't seem to be any reason for this...other than someone getting a kick back in their bank account for the change. I think initially it was "the farmers". Well, my FIL is a "farmer" and guess what...farmers get up with the sun and come in with the sun...it doesn't matter what TIME it is. I also feel bad for the people that worked last night and only got paid for a 7 hour shift rather than 8. Sure they only worked 7 hours, but that wasn't their fault. As sad as this sounds, some people really miss that hour of pay. Sure they might get 9 hours in the fall, but that is assuming they work it. Not always a gaurantee.

OK...now that I have ranted I feel better! LOL Think I am gonna try a SAL sketch challenge! Have a great 23 hour day ya'll!!!!
