The Good News is...

I can finally get back into my scraproom!!! Our basement is slooooooooowwwly coming back together. At least the carpets are done. Now we are just waiting on furniture and going through all the toys that need to go to Goodwill, etc. I am even taking a cue from Ali Edwards and getting American Craft albums for ALL (yep, I said A-L-L) my albums. I am completely overwhelmed with the thought of this organizational undertaking, but I am determined to simplify and get rid of all this clutter!!!!

So since I was able to get back into my scraproom, I was finally able to do this challenge from Peek.
The challenge was to do a layout about the current economy, gas prices, etc. I remembered that I had this picture of myself with a toy gas pump and figured it would be a perfect opportunity to work on a BOM page. I am also still using up some of my older supplies. This is some awesome Chatterbox cardstock paper from a couple of years back. I also scanned all the newspaper articles. Honestly, I think this is a fun layout to do every few years. I wonder in 5 years if I will look at the gas prices and think...WOW...that was CHEAP back in 2008?! Ugh...hope not! But ya know, had I been a scrapper way back when, it would have been fun to look at the cost of gas when I first started driving, etc.
So anyway, hope everyone has a great weekend! Must brag for just a short while (it is my blog afterall! LOL). Logan had soccer tournaments today and he totally kicked some soccer Boo-tee! He scored one of the winning goals and his team is well on their way to the championship game before the tournament got called for rain. So here's hoping they keep it up. I am starting his soccer album! Hambly had the COOLEST soccer transparency that screamed mini album to me (yes Christy, I said it...mini-album! Yikes!!!). I'll make sure to post pictures of my little soccer star as well as my mini album as soon as I get a chance.
TTFN!!! (back to my unburied scraproom before my mojo leaves me!!!)

Skipping Rocks

Did you ever do that as a kid? Since Shane's dad owns a lot of lake/woods property, our kids have perfected the fine art of rock skipping. I took these pictures of Logan recently when we were staying with some friends. He was actually in a housing addition that had a pond (not especially back to nature, but he didn't care! LOL). The design is based on a sketch my Janelle Richmond.

Scrapjacked!

So I have watched this blog FOREVER, but never gave it a try. I guess I must've found this one especially inspiring, so I gave it a shot. I am always searching for new ways to scrap school pictures and Logan's Kindergarten pictures turned out SO WELL this year, so I wanted it to be special. So here it is...
The really fun part is, I am using up a BUNCH of my old stuff lately. This paper is Around the Block and the sticker at the bottom is an ANCIENT EK Success...I think I bought this around the time I first starting scrapping! Crazy, huh?

Sooooooo excited!!!

OK, so I was surfing some of my fav blogs this morning and to my surprise...the layout I did for Paper Trunk's NSD challenges is on the front page of their blog!!!!! (scroll down and look on the right side under Trunk Project Focus). I am so excited! I LOVE Paper Trunk papers. They are "green", the perfect weight and have so many cool styles!

I have to say, after losing our dog, Jenny, for a day (yes we found her at the pound...stupid dog!!!)and waking up yesterday to a flooded basement, this is a MUCH better way to start the day!!!
