So here we are...

Here is a layout I did from the Scrap-a-Latte DT Retreat. This is the whole DT (and Carla - the owner). The retreat was in Michigan and the place had a tiki bar and everything. It was a TOTAL blast.

(Photo taken by Michele Sparklin/Sketch by Janelle Richmond) The supplies that I used were from the amazing package of Rusty Pickle supplies we got on the retreat. I never realized how much I truly loved Rusty Pickle until I got to see (and keep) almost everything they make. AWESOME!!! I can honestly say I NEEDED this trip! It was so much fun and I can't wait to go next year!!

Guess that is all for now. I am still recovering from my daughter's Halloween party last night. 8 TWEENIES! Eek! But they had fun. I'll post pics of it later. I think I earned "cool mom" status! Well, at least for now! ;)

I told you Reminisce was my new BFF!

So I got an e-mail from Reminisce with some really cool news! They want to use my winning entry (the runner up one) in their 2008 idea book. This would officially be my first catalog I have ever been published in. I have to say, I am really impressed with their new lines they have released recently.

In other pub news...I had a layout picked up for the Nov. Scrap Street ezine. It is a hybrid layout I did using Boxer products. Can't wait to see it come out. It was one of my fav hybrid layouts.

As far as scrapping, that is about it for me. It has been busy and I haven't had a lot of time to scrap lately...although I really need to fix that! I have taken some really fun pictures of the kids lately and I really want to scrap them. There are also a couple of sketches that I felt inspired by. So, I guess I'd better make time, huh?

I would love to go to a crop, but it always seems to take so much time to pack and unpack. Anyone know any good on-line crops? I need to get my mojo going again!

Speaking of going, I seriously need to go get my house cleaned up as Bailee is having a Halloween party today. Her first "middle school" party...this should be interesting! LOL I'll make sure to post some pictures of the chaos that is about to become my house!

Pencil Lines and Ali

As many of you know, I adore the work of Ali Edwards. Last week she did a sketch for Pencil Line Sketches, so I had to give it a try. Honestly, I had been trying to use these pictures and this paper for an eternity, so this was a good excuse. The design just came together as soon as I saw the sketch.
Thanks Ali and Pencil Lines!!

Wanna know who my new BFF is?

Reminisce! I entered their DT search and, although I didn't make it, I was listed as an honorable mention. Hey...I will TOTALLY take that! I got their new Boy line in my DT kit for scrap-a-latte and made the layout at our retreat and they chose it for their honorable mention.

Woohoo!! Oh yeah!!! Sa-weet! :) :) :)

Here is my layout (also shown on their blog)...my little funny face boy! It's been a good week!

Look...I scrapped! LOL

OK, so the Scrap-a-latte DT retreat this weekend was AMAZING!! (THANK YOU CARLA!!!!) I got sooooo much done (over 20 layouts). So, I thought I would share one of my favorites.

I had taken this picture of Shane when we were at an awards banquet at the high school. I just thought it was so funny to put him next to a sign that said "Men". Yeah...I know...this scrappers truly HAS lost her mind!!! But then I found these Potty People chipboard at Magistical Memories and the page just sort of evolved. BTW, beware of Heidi Swapp paint...it takes FOREVER to dry and mine is still a bit sticky several days later. (Sorry Heidi!).

I am still alive!!

Just been REALLY busy lately. I had to go to Atlanta, GA on a business trip the last weekend in Sept. and then went on a DT retreat with Scrap a Latte this past weekend in Michigan. Between trips, getting sick from my Atlanta trip, work, kids and Grandpa...let's just say there hasn't been a lot of time to blog. But, I had an AWESOME time on my retreat and came back to an e-mail from ScrapStreet ezine that I would be published in the November issue. I can't post the layout that will be published, but it is a Boxer page I did of my son drinking some cocoa. I also used my snowflakes from Midnight Oil on the page. They seem to be my good luck charm as this is like the 2nd page with them on it to get published. Or...maybe I just do really good winter pages! LOL

So today I finally devoted some time to housecleaning and have a ton of things to still get done - including an appt. for work tonight and calls to make to set up my week. Did I mention that I truly do LOVE my new career choice??? Seriously, to be able to stay home and still make full time pay? What could be better than that? I will say the only thing that is "hard" about it is making sure that I stick to my work schedule. It is so easy to just say to heck with it and be lazy, but I took a nice long nap today and I am still working, so I guess it isn't really all that hard...just challenging!

Hope everyone is still reading my blog and hasn't deserted me! If you are reading this...leave a comment so I know you are out there! I will choose one person and send a RAK to them next week.

Have a great one! ...until next time (which hopefully won't be nearly as long...)
