Basic Grey Sketch Challenge

I can honestly say that I have been waiting to scrap these pictures. I have sketched ideas out in my head and never really felt it was right UNTIL the Basic Grey Sketch Challenge!

When I saw this sketch...

with all the circles, I immediately thought of the mexican money I had brought home as a souvenier. So even though I substituted another picture (because I just can't let go of any of them!!) for the big flower... here is my take on the sketch (using Picadilly)...

 and here are some close ups of the actual money...

Basic Grey Scraplift Challenge

Who can't use a good lift from time to time? Here is the layout to lift from the Basic Grey Blog...

And here is what I came up with... (this was Shane's minivan filled with 40 balloons for his 40th Birthday!!)...

I mixed up the old with the new on this one. I dug out some SERIOUSLY old BG that I had been hoarding and mixed it with some of the brand new papers (always hard to let go of my BG stash!!)



Imaginisce Photo Challenge

March is a good time to you up some green paper and embellishments!! This month, Imaginisce posted a photo challenge...

After seeing the collage of pictures, I pulled out my green papers and Pickle Festival pictures that I have been meaning to scrap, but just wasn't sure what I wanted to do with them. After looking at this collage, I knew I wanted to collage a bunch of the pictures into the center of the page so that I could use them all. I tend to take a BUNCH of picture, but I really wanted to get a feel for what it was like in the factory, so it made sense to add them. Here is what I came up with...

I also used the iTop tool to make my own large brad embellishments! So fun!!

My Mind's Eye Sketch Challenge

I love sketches...and when I saw this sketch on the MME Blog, I knew I had to find some pictures to go with it. These pictures are from my trip to California last year when we went to the San Diego Zoo last year. This new baby hippo was just days old and they didn't even know if it was a boy or girl yet because the Mama Hippo wouldn't let zoo keepers get close to it. I felt pretty lucky to get to see the baby! And isn't he/she cute?? (for a hippo!)

I've been spotted!!

While checking my email today, I noticed that my layout was highlighted on the Club CK Blog!! I was SUPER excited and they gave me this cool blinkie, too!! 

Here is my layout that was featured...it is one of my favs. These are pictures I took of the orange trees when I went to visit my dear friend, Christy, in California last year for her birthday.

Such awesome memories with a great friend. I will treasure these pictures FOREVER. I also have to give a plug to Scrappin Sports & More. I used the Family and More paper to make the oranges. SS&M is an amazing company with top-notch staff and designers. So I am pleased that this particular layout was featured.
